Antica Cantina - Cantina Sociale Cooperativa di San Severo

In 1933 was born the Cooperative store of San Severo. In that year, 30 wine-growers, thank to an important fellow-citizen agriculturist’s diligence, Antonio La Monaca, the chairman of the firm till his decease combined to give life to one of the most ancient wine-cellar of Apulia. Also in 1934, as a recognition of the care in the production of bottled wein, conquered a first prize at Tripoli’s fair; the next year, the recognitions arrived from wine-making competition from Bologna’s fair, followed in the years from prizes and diplomas to the manifestation of Siena, Milano, Asti.
Today the members producers are about 500. Today as at that time, for as the wine is a worth to preserve and use the best of its advantage, is our story, the story of fathers and mothers of this land. The land that never betrayed, that it has always knew to change again the hard work of ours landowners that today as yesterday they dedicate with true passion to it, without saving. After 70 years today the firm developpe it self 12.000 mq. The equipped of the reception, the manufacture and the commercialitation of 18 milion of kg. of grapes, of which four of D.O.C. grapes and four of I.G.T grapes. The sales and marketing for the bottled wine is focused on the San Severo D.O.C. Bianco, Rosso and Rosato with the label “L’ANTICA CANTINA”. To stay ahead with the increasing demand of food safety regulations in order to benefit the consumer, the company put in place and implemented a quality control system, the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000.
